POLITICS

The Commonwealth of Australia follows a constitutional monarchy. King Charles III of the United Kingdom serves as Australia’s head of state. If you notice, the British flag is part of the Australian flag, indicating that the first Australians to come here were British. The King only plays the role of Governor-General in name, but the actual role of Governor-General is still performed completely independently. In addition to the role of Governor General, the head of each state will be the Governor and the head of the Government will be the Prime Minister.

CLIMATE – TIME ZONE

Australia is a very large continent spanning 3 different time zones, so there is a clear climate differentiation between Australian territories. In general, the North has a tropical climate, most of the continent has an arid climate, mainly deserts and semi-deserts. The southern coastal region is characterized by a Mediterranean climate, so winter temperatures are very cold.

In Australia, there will be 2 different time zones in winter and summer. The time change is intended to save energy because in the summer the sun will shine for a long time. In the summer, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, and the Australian capital move their clocks forward 1 hour. Seasonal timekeeping begins at 2am (AEST) on the first Sunday in October, and ends at 3am (Australian Eastern Daylight Time) on the first Sunday in April.
